2010 Yukon Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Symposium

Barriers and bridges

The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Symposium was held on April 8th. We discussed issues of poverty eradication, barriers that can create exclusion, the positive benefits of creating an inclusive society and what the current barriers are that exist in our society, and how we can move together as a community to change them. We enjoyed presentations by many important figures, including Senator Hugh Segal, Mr. Andy Nieman. Judge Marion Buller-Bennett and the Honourable Audrey McLaughlin. There were discussion panels that accompanied each speaker, and members of the public were highly involved.

Feel free to view the full day's events in the symposium, and enjoy the rousing and thoughtful discussions that ensued.
